Welcoming Week is a national initiative created by Welcoming America, in partnership with YMCA of the USA (Y-USA). It celebrates communities that embrace new Americans and highlight their contributions to the social fabric of our country. The campaign brings together immigrants and U.S.-born residents to foster cross-cultural understanding and raise awareness of the power of inclusion.
For this campaign, I was responsible for designing and developing the creative assets that brought Welcoming Week to life. This included the website storefront, as well as posters, flyers, yard signs, and banners—all designed with a consistent look and feel to reinforce the campaign’s welcoming message. I also created social media graphics to extend the reach of the campaign online and engage communities nationwide.
The work required balancing strategic messaging with visual design, ensuring that every piece was not only eye-catching but also adaptable for local communities to use in their own celebrations.
For the YMCA of the USA’s STEM marketing campaign, three bold and inspiring posters were created to showcase the limitless paths youth can explore. The first poster featured lively illustrations of surgical tools, airplanes in mid-flight, and a film director’s clapboard, all set against a vibrant teal and orange to represent precision, ambition, and creativity. The second spotlighted outer space exploration, lines of computer code, and imaginative video game worlds, brought to life with deep purples, cosmic blues, for a futuristic, tech-driven feel. The third poster celebrated innovation with illustrations of engineers assembling sleek cars, intricate gear systems, and programmers at work, rendered in a mix of purple, bright orange, and crisp white to convey ingenuity and progress. Together, the series created an energizing visual narrative that embodied the YMCA’s mission to inspire and prepare the next generation for exciting STEM careers.
As part of my work with YMCA of the USA, I had the opportunity to design a wide range of branded assets to support global YMCA initiatives. These materials included catalogs, one-pagers, brochures, direct mailers, infographics, and custom illustrations—all tailored to communicate the organization's mission and impact effectively across diverse international audiences. Each piece was designed with flexibility in mind, ensuring consistency with YMCA’s global brand standards while allowing room for localization. This multi-format approach helped elevate the visibility of global programs, enhance stakeholder engagement, and streamline messaging across various platforms and cultural contexts
